My freshman year of college, I had the opportunity to achieve my dream of showing a steer at the Shiawassee County Fair. While this was always something that I had wanted to do, I didn't have the necessary setup at my own home to be able to own an animal that grew to almost 1,400 lbs. My only option was to ask the farmer down the road if I could keep a steer at his house, and he said yes. Through my time at the farm, I enjoyed having the chance to interact with the farmers animals, including the very majestic Scottish Highland cattle. I had originally taken a photo of one of the heifers in the winter time and then created the illustration. The photo was featured in a show entitled "Suburbs" in Rome , Italy in the Fall of 2019.
